Coaching Experience 18 Years Qualifications Diploma in Life Coaching NLP Master Practitioner Certification NLP Trainer Certification Hypnosis Certification Values Pendulum Profiling Certification The Communication Code™ Certification Tell us how you got started… My coaching journey started when I realised that there was a gap in the services I offered as a personal trainer. While in a session with a client I could help them feel motivated, happy, good within themselves and accountable to behaviours that supported their health and wellbeing. However, outside of their sessions, their behaviours would sometimes slip towards unsupportive health and wellbeing behaviours and their progress would stall. This led me to realise that what was missing was not what happened within the session, but what I could provide them with outside of the session. What I was looking for were the skills to assist them with their beliefs and mindset which in turn influenced their behaviours. This is when I decided to study for a coaching qualification. I wanted to make sure that I could properly assist my clients in creating healthier and happier lifestyles, where they could maintain their results without the constant accountability to a trainer. Since then, I’ve worked with clients, mostly women, from many walks of life, who have wanted to not only be and feel healthier, but also perform better, have better relationships, and create a greater sense of self. My coaching journey has led me to work with leaders in business – from owners of SMEs to clients at various levels of the corporate structure, including CEOs, senior management and up-and-coming professionals. I've also had the opportunity to work with Mum's in all phases of motherhood, from starting out and adapting to the change in focus, to the middle – where timetables become hectic and emotional and mental support of their children becomes key – to the end, when their children leave the nest and they’re ready for the next chapter of their own journey. I've worked with many athletes on mindset and peak performance, including the WA state Curling team, where I travelled with them to nationals as their peak performance coach. I have a personal passion surrounding both short and long course distance triathlon, and have experience working with amateur triathletes to improve their performance, overcome fears and create successful racing strategies. Today, my coaching work is aimed at those who are looking to improve their health and wellbeing alongside their ability to perform at their best and develop meaningful relationships with themselves and others. If a client had never worked with a coach before, what would you want them to know about coaching with you? My approach to coaching is an honest, open and kind one. My role is to coach you to get the result you want. This requires us to look honestly at what your current patterns are and where your current perceptions are holding you back, even when these seem to be done with the best intentions or are difficult to recognise and let go of. I bring an absolute sense of open mindedness to every session: nothing you do or say gets judged. Instead, we look openly at whether this behaviour or belief is serving you or stopping you, and from there we decide what the best way forward is for you. I recognise that we’re always seeking to do our best, no matter the results we get, and it is with a kind heart that I approach my coaching sessions. Who are you most passionate about working with? I'm passionate about working with women to help them develop their own self-leadership skills and practices. Self-leadership to me starts with developing a kind and accepting view of yourself, which then allows you to go on and be more open, genuine and collaborative when attaining your goals or leading others. I believe that the world would be a better place if this type of leadership was mainstream practice. I think societies would work better and the planet would be healthier if everyone looked to develop themselves in this way. Words of Wisdom that I share with clients that are at the heart of my coaching philosophy: Anything is possible. You’re doing the best you can with the resources you have available to you right now. You can't control the behaviours of others.
