Mark is expert at helping clients break through physical and mental barriers in their work and their lives. As an experienced coach and martial arts champion, he has great insight into managing stress, performance and creating a winning mindset. Coaching Experience 10 Years Qualifications Diploma in Life Coaching NLP Trainer Hypnosis Trainer Certified in Values Pendulum Profiling Certified in Instant Insight Communication Systems™ Certified in The Communication Code™ What made you decide to become a coach? I’ve always had a keen interest in understanding how things work. I studied Biotechnology at university, where I learnt how the body works on a chemical and molecular level. I then went on to study fitness, where I learnt how the body works at a physical/mechanical level. Through my career as a personal trainer, I found the biggest barrier to clients achieving results was their mindset, which led me down the coaching route. In what areas have you been coaching? I’ve coached business owners on everything from managing relationships (both professional and personal), business strategy, communicating with teams, driving performance, and leadership. I’ve conducted Stress Management workshops for companies like Synergy (WA Electricity Retailer), productivity, leadership and communication workshops and one-on-one coaching for real estate companies, Personal Breakthrough Days for clients with chronic health conditions and past trauma to overcome, and executive coaching and relationship coaching for executives and management in publicly listed companies. If a client had never worked with a coach before, what would you want them to know about coaching with you? My style of coaching is a combination of strategy and mindset. Clients will be tasked to prioritise and execute the steps of the strategy we develop together. Until they don’t – in which case we’ll work to uncover what’s holding them back, address this with mindset coaching, then continue with the strategy. I have extensive experience with fitness and health (which I classify as performance). I also have a skill for developing bespoke strategies to achieve a desired outcome (avoiding the ‘cookie cutter’ approach). Who are you most passionate about working with? People who think differently and want to do things differently (break the mould), and people who have a performance goal. Words of Wisdom that I share with clients that are at the heart of my coaching philosophy: It’s what you do next that counts. Your next workout or performance is only as good as your last recovery. Not all stress is bad. What else would you like to share about yourself that you think clients would like to know when they are looking to work with you as a coach? I’m an experienced athlete and have competed internationally, which gives me great insight into developing a winning mindset. I practise Karate at a high level, was a 2x World's Toughest Mudder competitor (24h event), 3x 24h Mud Run competitor, and came 3rd at the 2001 World Karate Championships. I’ve also lived in several different countries and am a father of twin girls.
